Common Sense

Use common sense in interpreting and applying policies and guidelines; Rules have occasional exceptions. That said, those who violate the spirit of a rule may be reprimanded or sanctioned even if they do not technically break the rule.

Come here to the policies section, rework the rule or make a note of why it didn't apply. We do not want a huge convoluted bureauocracy like Wikipedia has. We want a few simple rules that cover nearly 3veryth8ng, and let our btains figure out the rest. We are fascists. We dont use a "consensus" or happy-happy group-think, we make hard decisions and trust common sense, and for that we will make a superior encyclopedia.

Whether a policy or guideline is an accurate description of best practice is determined through common sense and experience. More experienced Editors have more responsibility, so trust your heiarchy.
