- Not to be confused with Blue Star Mothers of America
National Blue Star Mothers of America was part of the Mothers' Movement led by Catherine V. Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group obtained its name in March 1943. Previously the group was called Crusading Mothers of Pennsylvania after it broke away from another group in May 1941 known as the Mothers and Daughters of Pennsylvania. In 1945 after the warโs end the group renamed itself the Current Events Club.[1] The Club stayed active thru the 1950s.
They issued a newsletter titled The Cradle of Liberty.
On April 27, 1949, the United States Attorney General officially listed the National Blue Star Mothers as fascist and subversive.
