Henry Morgenthau, Jr. (1891 – 1967) was the United States of America's jewish Secretary of the Treasury during the Presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Morgenthau was involved in the Vrba-Wetzler report on the Holohoax and drew up the harsh Morgenthau Plan for post-war Germany. See the articles on these topics.
An influential associate of Morgenthau was the jewish Treasury official Harry Dexter White (original surname Weit), a major Communist infiltrator, accused of having caused large-scale harm on a wide range of issues.
After the war, Morgenthau devoted the remainder of his life to working with jewish philanthropies and also became a financial advisor to Israel.
