Homer is the stated Ancient Greek author of the epic poems the Iliad and the Odyssey. Regardless of authorship, the works influence on Ancient Greek culture, and by extension the culture of Ancient Rome and Western civilization, is enormous.
The works may be influenced by events related to the Sea Peoples.
