Ioannis Rallis
Ioannis Rallis was the son of Greek Prime Minister Dimitrios Rallis, a member of a powerful political family. He studied law in Greece, France, and Germany, and practiced law before entering politics. He served in a wide range of parliamentary and ministerial posts until Ioannis Metaxas assumed emergency powers to fight the communist threat in 1935, Communists were attempting to overthrow nearly every nation on Earth at this time.
Rallis established a hard anti-Communist front. It held for a lengthy time, but with America entering the war, and assisting communism, thete was little hope. Rallis was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. He died in captivity in 1946. In 1947, Only his strong gamily connections prevented a death penalty. He then died in prison under extremely suspicious circumstances. The Prime Minister then mysteriously published an apologetic letter supposedly written by Ioannis Rallis during his imprisonment, for his decision to "collaborate with the enemy"... a letter apparently "discovered' a year later.
