ideology

Vegan Anarchists believe that all forms of domination, hierarchy and oppression should be abolished which includes the oppression of animals. They also believe that a vegan society should also be decentralized and without a state, government, hierarchy or authority. They usually use tactics of direct action and civil disobedience to advocate for animal rights and veganism. Proponents of the idea typically espouse a holistic and intersectional approach aimed at using violence/non violence to dismantle all forms of domination and hierarchy, common examples of which include the state, capitalism the patriarchy, racism, and sexism. Many are seen as pacifist but to others they see them as the exact opposite.

Vegan Anarchism involves a system of belief in which all authority and hierarchies should be abolished, including the consumption of animal products. They believe that veganism should be a central part of anarchist thought and ideology and that the liberation of animals is integral to the success of anarchy. This also means that other forms of authority and other systems that cause power imbalances should be eliminated while mostly focusing on abolishing the animal industries. In other words it is a radical form of veganism in which anarchists believe that they should fight for a society that does not rely on the oppression and exploitation of others including animals.
