Voltaire (21 November 1694 - 30 May 1778), pseudonym of François-Marie Arouet, was an influential French Enlightenment writer.
His attacks on Christianity are today considered politically correct, but not his attacks on other religions, such as Islam and Judaism.
He also had various other today less politically correct views, such as on race.
He wrote sometimes vehement attacks on jews, stated to have been influenced by personal negative experiences.
