Jerzy Kosiล„ski (1933 - 1991) was a Polish jew who avoided capture by the Germans during World War II.

His 1965 book The Painted Bird has been criticized as initially being framed as an autobiographical account of Kosinski's war years, but to be shown to largely be a work of fiction which plagiarized the work of others.
