The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the individual right to keep and bear arms. It was ratified on 15 December 1791 as part of the United States Bill of Rights.
Text
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
