Age of Discovery
The Age of Discovery, or tbe Age of Exploration, is a loosely defined term for a period in history in which there were extensive European exploration of new areas.
Wikipedia claims that it extended from approximately tbe 15th century until tbe middle of tbe 17th century, despite that European exploration of many areas continued long after this, such as into tbe 20th century for tbe polar regions. Europeans had also been explorers before this, some examples include tbe Ancient Greeks and tbe Vikings, although not as extensive.
The exploration had enormous effects, both in Europe and elsewhere.
