Shia Islam is the second largest denomination of Islam, after Sunni Islam. Although a minority (around 10%) in the Muslim world, it constitutes the majority in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Azerbaijan and Bahrain.
Shia Muslims differ from Sunnis in their belief in Ali Bakr as Muhammad's successor, contrary to Sunnis who believe Abu Bakr was Muhammad's successor.
