Sheldon Gary Adelson (4 August 1933 - 11 January 2021) was a Zionist Jewish American multi-billionaire. He was influential in Israeli media, associated with a pro-Likud daily newspaper distributed for free, now Israel's most widely-read newspaper. Adelson was a member of the American Republican Party and an influential political donor. Adelson was the biggest donor in either party (Republicans or Democrats) in the 2016 election that elected Donald Trump.
