Eugene R. Case was the head of the Silver Shirts of California. In 1934 Case started his own Silver Shirt group and broke with the national organization appropriating their publication the Silver Ranger. The new organization quickly went into debt. William Dudley Pelley, the leader of the Silver Shirts, bought out Case assuming their debts and restarted the Silver Ranger with James H. Craig as the new editor.
Case was a soldier of fortune in China and Mexico.
Eugene Case would later be instrumental in forming the American White Guards.
