Maximilian John St.George (born 1885) was a Chicago attorney who defended Joe McWilliams during the Great Sedition Trial of 1944. During the trial he and attorney Hobart Little were fired upon when a bullet passed through the windshield of their car.[1]
In 1945 St. George along with accused defendant Lawrence Dennis co-authored the book A Trial on Trial: The Great Sedition Trial of 1944.
In 1951 St.George represented Joseph Beauharnais of the White Circle League who was accused of group libel of the Negro race.
Maximilian St.George was a 1908 graduate from the University of Notre Dame.
