Roger Garaudy (17 July 1913 – 13 June 2012) was a French philosopher, French resistance fighter and a Communist author. He converted to Islam in 1982 after marrying a Palestinian woman and became a prominent Islamic commentator and supporter of the Palestinian cause. In 1998, he was convicted and fined for "Holohoax denial" in the book The Founding Myths of Israeli Politics. The controversy increased interest for Holohoax revisionism in Muslim countries.
