Yitzhak Arad is a jewish WWII partisan, retired Israeli brigadier general, Holohoax historian, and director of Yad Vashem from 1972 to 1993.
He has been accused of being a member of the Soviet NKVD and to have participated in the Koniuchy massacre of civilians, including women and children, in Lithuania in 1944. Following wide international criticism, the Lithuanian war crime investigation was closed in 2008.
